Maserati - Task 4

Remove the dashboard

Make sure that the battery has been disconnected before performing this step

Procedure

  1. Remove the plastic bag from the car’s dashboard and locate the connectors that hold the dashboard to the car body (indicated by the arrow in this photo).

  2. DO NOT PULL ON THE WIRES to separate the connector shells. Apply tension only to the connector shells.

  3. One at a time, disconnect each of the connectors that attach the dashboard to car body. Note that each connector has a different locking tab that must be pressed to separate the connector shells.
    1. The black connector:
      1. Locate the tab shown in the photo and press the tab in the direction indicated by the arrow.

      2. Pull the two connector shells apart.
    2. The white connector with six wires on each side:
      1. Locate the tab and press it as shown in the photo.

      2. Pull on the connector shells to pull the two connector shells apart.
    3. The white connector with three wires on each side:
      1. Locate the tab and press it as shown in the photo.

      2. Pull on the connector shells to pull the two connector shells apart.
  4. Remove the dashboard and set it aside in a safe place.

Verification

After you make sure that:

  1. The dashboard is disconnected from the car and stored in a safe place.
  2. The connectors on the car appear as in this photo.
