Maserati - Task 4
Remove the dashboard
Make sure that the battery has been disconnected before performing this step
Procedure
- Remove the plastic bag from the car’s dashboard and locate the connectors that hold the dashboard to the car body (indicated by the arrow in this photo).
- DO NOT PULL ON THE WIRES to separate the connector shells. Apply tension only to the connector shells.
- One at a time, disconnect each of the connectors that attach the dashboard to car body. Note that each connector has a different locking tab that must be pressed to separate the connector shells.
- The black connector:
- Locate the tab shown in the photo and press the tab in the direction indicated by the arrow.
- Pull the two connector shells apart.
- Locate the tab shown in the photo and press the tab in the direction indicated by the arrow.
- The white connector with six wires on each side:
- Locate the tab and press it as shown in the photo.
- Pull on the connector shells to pull the two connector shells apart.
- Locate the tab and press it as shown in the photo.
- The white connector with three wires on each side:
- Locate the tab and press it as shown in the photo.
- Pull on the connector shells to pull the two connector shells apart.
- Locate the tab and press it as shown in the photo.
- The black connector:
- Remove the dashboard and set it aside in a safe place.
Verification
After you make sure that:
- The dashboard is disconnected from the car and stored in a safe place.
- The connectors on the car appear as in this photo.
