Using the Multimeter
Before you begin, make sure the battery is not connected to any of the wires or connections you wish to test.
To check the resistance of a wire or connection, set the multimeter as shown below, and touch the probes to the electrical connection or exposed wire. You should see a 0, 1, or the resistance value.
To test for continuity, set the multimeter as shown below, and touch the probes to the electrical connection or exposed wire. You should see a 0, or 1.
To test for a short, set the multimeter as shown below, and touch the probes to the electrical connection or exposed wire. You should see a 0, 1, or the value.
